Steal Banksy

The Art Series Hotels in Australia is an art themed hotel chain. Inspired by Melbourne’s history of art theft and the fact that thefts from hotels are quite common, we hung a Banksy and challenged people to ‘Stay the night. Steal the art’. The signed Banksy was ‘No Ball Games’, which was once stolen off the streets of London using an angle grinder. Clues were seeded via social media, theft attempts were recorded and journalists documented their own attempts. The Banksy was eventually stolen and tracked via a GPS chip hidden in the art to announce the successful thieves.
