Stanley Kubrick's Napoleon: The Greatest Movie Never Made
Stanley Kubrick's Napoleon: The Greatest Movie Never Made
Taschen's 2009 collector's edition, designed by M/M (Paris) and limited to 1,000 copies, featured a carved-out facsimile of an antique history book containing ten smaller books, each covering a category of material from the archive of Stanley Kubrick’s unmade ‘Napoleon’ movie (including a facsimile of the screenplay). To turn this art object into an affordable, smaller, single-volume book, the designers retained the original outer book’s form and reproduced all of the ten interior books as if they had been ‘photocopied’ onto the pages, with two books often running simultaneously on the same page.
