In the winter of 1998 a member of the Hong Kong creative advertising industry was on a staff exchange trip to London. He found his month in England an enriching experience, surrounded by English arts, fashion, advertisements, architecture and designs. However, one day, in a small boutique in Soho, he came face to face with a typical Hong Kong product - the redwhiteblue plastic bag. As a result, he learnt to consider things from different cultural perspectives. When he returned to Hong Kong he became more concerned with all things 'local', and began to look at redwhiteblue from a different angle. These books are a product of that thought and look at the many ways redwhiteblue is used.
