Radiohead - House of Cards
Radiohead - House of Cards
Radiohead's 'House of Cards' was conceived and directed by Zoo Film Productions director James Frost. It is the first video to be shot without the use of cameras, using only lasers and scanners. Realising that one could scan moving images in real-time using 3D lasers, Frost sought a way to use the technology to make a video. Radiohead seemed the only logical choice, given the band's previous ventures in forward thinking technology. A long-time relationship with the band's managers gave Frost the opportunity to approach them directly with the concept, allowing the idea to be developed outside of the constraints of the corporate system. 'House of Cards' was the first music video premiered by Google, in July 2008.
