Prometheus 'Transmission'

This is one in a series of viral shorts promoting the feature film ‘Prometheus’, showing a transmission video of the crew preparing for their mission. The sound for this spot consisted of snippets of pre-recorded transmissions created by various characters from the crew, interspersed with computational routines and coded messages intended for future alien encounters. We therefore had to strike a fine balance between cinematic sound design and authenticity. Distinct and believable sonic styles had to be realised for each section, while still maintaining a soundscape that worked on an aesthetic level and achieved an overarching tension and climactic finale.
