Neko

Neko is an illustrated hardback picture book for the 6 to 12-year-old age group. The story is set during the time of the feudal system in 15th Century Japan; the aim was to create an authentic historical environment while trying to avoid typical Western concepts of Japanese culture. The illustrator invested considerable time in researching the subject, visiting Japan several times to ensure that the real life locations, costumes, and details were as accurate as possible.
