Metamorphosis

String Theory commissioned Buck to produce and direct ‘Metamorphosis’ for online bookseller Good Books. The goal of the project was to promote a very good cause: every time a purchase is made from Good Books, all the profit goes directly to fund projects in partnership with Oxfam. We wanted to create an animation that referenced the art associated with the author Hunter S Thompson and the period in which he was prolific, but with a modern and individual approach. The end product is a relentless visual onslaught, a graphic drug-fuelled rant that would, like Thompson’s prose, somehow seamlessly hold together to tell the Good Books story.
