Kohl

A modern serif font where sturdy, classic forms meet razor‑sharp expressive details, this typeface was inspired by Antique No. 8 from Miller & Richard⁠ which informed the design of the capitals, but not so much the lowercase letters. We designed an entirely new lowercase for this font. This meant fully committing to sharpness, letting the triangular serifs guide an exploration of extreme angles and precision. The S size is the workhorse⁠, while the size L is basically the S size after three coffees; sharper serifs, more extreme angles, & horizontal serifs that absolutely clash on purpose.
