Jurascopes
Jurascopes
Seven dinosaur skeletons are the stars of Berlin’s Museum of Natural History. A look through a Jurascope brings the animals to life by expanding the viewers’ experience from static exhibits to an animated Jurassic world. By turning a Jurascope into an exhibit, the 30-second animation begins: the dinosaur grows muscle and skin, and is relocated to its natural habitat where it roars into action. Sound also contributes to the effect. The objective was to give the exhibition a playful touch and to open the door to further information for visitors of all ages. At the same time, we wanted to leave the original exhibits centre stage, therefore we designed the installation as an easy-to-use, everyday object that blends into its surroundings.
