Il, Il Sole 24 Ore, Rane Section

‘RANE’ is the cultural section of ‘IL’, supplement of ‘Il Sole 24 ORE’, the leading economics newspaper in Italy. The brief was to create a section with its own bold language. The tone of the articles is provocative and challenging; the visual reflects this attitude. The foremost inspirations for the project were some futurist magazines like ‘Lacerba’ and ‘Dinamo Futurista’. The name ‘RANE’ comes from a quote of a medieval poetry work called ‘L’acerba’ from Cecco d’Ascoli. Starting from there, the challenge was to elaborate a more modern language, using typography, infographics and visual storytelling.
