History of Jazz

‘History of Jazz’ by Ted Gioia is a bestseller from Turner Publishers. There is a paperback edition and this is the hardcover version, conceived as a gift book. The brief was to design a lively and dynamic cover, with rhythm and movement. We chose a typographical design in which the word ‘Jazz’ is the protagonist. The letters, in vibrant colours, move in one direction on the cover and in the opposite direction on the back cover and the spine.
