Gauchito Querido

Gauchito Querido: Un Montón de Altares, Tres Santuarios y una Tumba is a publication at the intersection of artist book and photobook. It documents a journey along Argentinian roads in search of the Gauchito Gil, the country’s most venerated popular saint. 47 locations and 1,133 kilometers trace the route, accompanied by a visual scale that maps the journey as alternative cartography. Each site is introduced through fragments of poetic prose in dialogue with photographic documentation of altars, sanctuaries, and tombs.
