Fur Hurts

This is an installation project to highlight the suffering of animals in Chinese fur farms. Life-sized models of foxes, minks and rabbits were covered in coats of sharp needles. In Chinese fur farms, these animals are often skinned alive and left to die in excruciating pain. The law doesn't care. And the fur-wearing public has no clue that they are contributing to great suffering. The Chinese describe terrible suffering as ‘the pain of a thousand needles’. This project used over 500,000 needles to show that fur is only beautiful until you look closer.
