End of Year Graduate Show 2006
The brief we set ourselves was to present 200 students' work in an extremely fun and intuitive way. We wanted the display to be minimal, interactive, exciting and removed of any visible hints of technology. The result was an eight metre long interactive 'virtual display case', where users viewed the work in the most natural way, simply by moving their hands over the table. The graduates' work was presented on virtual cubes, which were connected to a soft surface simulation to create the illusion that they were swimming in a dark liquid when rotated. We wanted this to be intuitive, and also highlight that creativity should not be limited by the constraints imposed by off-the-shelf software.
