Dream On

For the 25th anniversary of Photoshop, Goodby Silverstein & Partners San Francisco crafted an anthem for dreamers - a video made entirely from Photoshop files and their layers. The animation was based solely on artwork curated from Behance, Adobe's creative community of four million people. Files were contributed by over 100 artists, and were deconstructed, animated, sequenced and synced to Aerosmith's iconic Dream On. The process used over 3,500 layers and took three weeks. Photoshop artists helped by organising layers and adjusting and preparing images. Working 100% in-house, GS&P employed frame-based 2D animation and compositing using Adobe's own software. The final product isn't just a video. It's also a Photoshop file.
