Don't Go Tellin' Your Momma
Don't Go Tellin' Your Momma
Winner of a 2021 Sundance Jury Prize, Don't Go Tellin' Your Momma is a visual album about Topaz Jones that takes audiences on an autobiographical journey into his formative influences. Told in vignettes, it is modelled on the Black ABCs – an invention from 1970, when Black educators in Chicago developed an alphabet flashcard set to provide Black-centred teaching materials to the vastly white educational landscape.
