Coin-op Kiddie Rides

After the 2009 financial crisis, we couldn't just do the same old-fashioned fundraising drive. We needed to get people involved, interested and inspired, so we built coin-operated rides featuring Red Cross vehicles for kids to play on, while serving as collection boxes. The importance of every single donation was now easy to see. Children and their parents could give coins and instantly see the effect of their donation: the ambulance, the helicopter and the boat moved just as the Red Cross moves. And the Red Cross gave you something back immediately: a moment of joy.
