AICP Sponsor Reel

Featuring dancing avatars created with procedural art, this piece opened the 2016 AICP Show celebrating commercial creativity. Professional dancers were motion-captured, then artists developed 50 procedural texture effects and custom algorithms to execute them. A CG environment with lighting and camera setups was prepared and customized, and textures applied to each character. Well-prepared source geometry helped avoid complications and custom tools kept simulations moving smoothly between frames and ‘skinning’ mapping correctly. Re-cut for Major Lazer, it blew up online, with 100M+ views.
