‘Ai032LP / Time to Exit’ was London-based Airecords final release. Jason Smith of Airecords wanted the release to visually symbolise the end of the label. Belgium artist Roa was commissioned to illustrate Jason’s vision. The spring release coincided with the Chinese New Year of the rabbit, an animal Roa is famed for painting. The outside sleeve shows what seems to be a sleeping rabbit. Flip it over to reveal the animal’s skeleton. The inner sleeve shows further stages of decay, while the marbled vinyl represents the animal’s blood, celebrating the life and death of Airecords.
