A Creature I Don't Know

A bespoke special edition box created to illustrate the story behind Laura Marling’s third album. Laura wrote a poem called ‘The Beast’ specifically for this, which Shynola then used as a basis for the illustrations. The 12-inch vinyl was used as an anamorphic picture disc to represent the two sides of the beast, and also the dark and light themes running through the album. A guitar slide was included in the pack, which doubled up as a mirror to reveal the four illustrations on the vinyl. The pack also included a short film, acoustic performances, CD album format, lyrics and an illustrated book of the poem.
