The 2030 Calculator is the first tool that allows brands to quickly and easily quantify the carbon footprint of the products they manufacture, using a common universal scoring system. Making these calculations had previously been a costly effort only open to bigger brands. 2030 Calculator levels the playing field by giving small, local challenger brands a shared tool for creating awareness and transparency.

What did the judges have to say?

"This work combines strong positive intent and excellent delivery$making a complex tool straightforward and enjoyable to use for companies. The outcome for consumers and the purchase decisions they make as a result of the calculator's findings could change the livelihood of many brands as they attempt to do the right thing around sustainability. It creates an opportunity for brands to continuously improve as they contrast and compare to their competitors and role models. I look forward to watching the progress and uptake of the 2030 Calculator in the future."

Felicity Stevens, Strategy Director, Alt Group

"It’s a very ambitious project that has the potential to create some real impact. It’s a great idea that hopefully one day could be as common as the energy ratings on appliances we buy. It will help consumers make better buying decisions that affect the environment more positively . The design and expression is simple, intuitive and very well crafted."

Marc Ligeti, Lead Designer, Creuna / Knowit

"An easy and straightforward way to define the carbon footprint of a product - it sharpens the awareness as a quality criteria and ideally makes people think more about their overall shopping behaviour."

Andrea Finke-Anlauff, Creative Director, Gofore
