Malika Favre

This book was designed for the illustrator Malika Favre, who is known for her stunningly simple work. The cover, inspired by Favre’s reduction of forms, presents a pair of die-cut lips, a symbol often adopted by the artist. Once opened the endpapers reveal an amorous illustration – a subtle introduction to the theme of eroticism. The design of the interior is reduced to the essential components, much like the work of Favre, and the pace created through the scale and placement of imagery. The artist’s hand is everywhere; from the artwork created for the barcode to the first-person introductions.
