Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / Illustration / Illustration for Press & Poster Advertising / 2011

Conqueror Paper, a premium paper manufacturing brand, was celebrating its first decade in India. It wanted to take the opportunity to pay tribute to a culture and market that had supported it all these years. Bridging the core category – all forms of base paper – and the vibrant, colourful country called India, we created an incredible though painstaking visual illustration that involved hundreds of rolled-up mini paper scrolls embedded on a flat surface. The size and colour of each scroll combined to create a breathtaking, colourful mosaic of iconic Indian characters: the Kathakali dancer, the royal Rajput and the spiritual guru.
