Impossible Dream

Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / TV & Cinema Advertising / TV Commercials Over 120 Seconds / 2006

A man dressed in racing overalls steps from a trailer by the sea and begins an incredible journey on a series of landmark Honda vehicles, whilst miming to the Andy Williams song 'The Impossible Dream'. As the action gets faster and faster our hero continues to sing, whilst the progression of vehicles includes an open top sports car, a racing quad bike, TT bike, Formula One car and finally a Honda powerboat. Unbelievably the boat races towards the edge of a vast waterfall, leaps off and descends into the mist below. Surely this is the end of his dream? However, as Andy Williams reaches the crescendo of the song our hero returns from the mist in a Honda Hot Air Balloon to finish the song in style. Garrison Keillor - the voice of Honda - sums it all up in the sentence 'I couldn't have put it better myself'.
