Even though there has been great efforts as some countries have banned and closed fur industry, most people are not aware of the truth that huge number of animals are still being killed every year. To shock people and give them a message, actual taxidermied animals with oversized needles are installed in high-traffic locations, such as parks in New York City. Oversized needles has visual similarity with spears, which is a weapon to kill animals, so the purpose of the installation was to give people a thought that buying fur clothing is killing animals.
