Mashups

Inspired by remix culture, Mashups is a new initiative from Penguin that aims to rejuvenate the act of reading books through a series of ‘mashup challenges’. In each ‘mashup’, a classic book character is paired with an aspect of contemporary culture – the challenge for readers is to imagine what they think would happen! By encouraging people to apply book content to different aspects of their daily lives, Mashups will show that books are still highly relevant in today’s society and therefore re-position books and reading as fundamental parts of popular culture.
