Food for Thought

This brief was a chance to do something radical & create a game with a dual purpose: bring positivity to the player & impact the world. With so many titles focused on violence and destruction, this game should demonstrate the prospect of changing the narrative on issues affecting society. When reflecting on what a force for good could be in the current climate, I was drawn to stories I’d heard throughout lockdown of struggling families and their reliance on food banks conflicting with the levels of food waste from retailers across the nation. I knew that raising awareness on this topic should be the theme for my game. With Food for Thought, I hope players see how involving themselves in the story on food waste can not only affect the health of humanity, but also the health of the Earth.
