The Statue Review

As the BLM movement grew, HEAVY DUTY re-wrote history and installed new bronze plaques on colonial statues across Australian cities, uncovering a side of the story that wasn’t being told on the originals. The new plaques accurately depicted the individuals’ involvement in the murder of Aboriginal Australians, turning each statue into a powerful history lesson. HEAVY DUTY’s purpose is to create empathy for groups affected through acknowledgement of the past.
