The Architectural Review July Issue
Founded in 1896, The Architectural Review (AR) is a monthly magazine that presents a thoughtful, critical and at times provocative vision of contemporary global architecture. To honour this tremendous legacy, the redesign journey started by looking back through the AR’s archive. Boxill and Lindgren chose to reconfigure one of its original mastheads, embracing the past but introducing a new contemporary slant by rendering the letterforms as a merged unit. The decision to use an extreme exterior crop of the Museum Brandhorst in Germany elevates the detail and colour used in the building’s beautiful skin, producing an abstract multi-coloured surface.
