Steppenwolf Series

We created a branded poster series for the Steppenwolf Theatre that tells the story of each play. Each poster should be treated as a piece of art and immediately recognisable as coming from Steppenwolf. As with classic book covers, the challenge was to develop a single key visual that sums up the entire story. We used symbols and metaphors from major themes of each story to create visual intrigue, tension and juxtaposition. The solution focuses on the narrative, rather than the actors, so we reached out to a world-class illustrator to help us create the bold imagery that captures each story.
