Kamiwaza Paper Craft Awards

A promotion item for a paper craft award competed by amateurs and professionals alike. Since a the “Kamiwaza Award” is hosted by a paper company, we wanted to make people appreciate paper, and instead of something intricate, we put together a design that could simply present the characteristics of paper, along with the advantages that the material has. The logo that represents the award’s purport of “Paper” “Assembled by Hand” was applied on various promotion items made out of only paper to create uniformity. Slave: 02982 Posters (graphic design) An image poster for a paper craft award presented by a paper company, competed by amateurs and professionals alike. Aiming to achieve understanding of the award’s purport just by the poster, we decided to apply to it, “incrustation”, a fine technique long existing in Japan, in which a contrasting material is applied as inlay, and found in objects like Japanese swords. 3 types of paper each representing the kanji “紙 (paper)”/hand/outline were inlaid to the base paper, and managed to express the technique, rather than to decorate the poster.
