This range of Kafka book covers features portraits that are representative of the disorientation and anxiety the central protagonists in Kafka’s writing generally experience. In addition to the bizarre, dreamlike masks that strip away the characters’ personality and capacity to communicate, the fact that the individuals seem to be in a sitting position reinforces a sense of being tied, trapped or otherwise imprisoned.
