Hope Soap

In South Africa, thousands of people die from preventable diseases like typhoid, diarrhoea, pneumonia and cholera every year. No more is it true than in Blikkiesdorp, a township in the Western Cape of South Africa. We created Hope Soap, a see-through bar of soap with a small toy inside. The only way to get to the toy is to use the soap. Community leaders handed out free bars of Hope Soap to disadvantaged children. Not only did Hope Soap reduce infections, but it also changed hygiene habits in Blikkiesdorp.
