Helsinki Plant Tram

‘Helsinki Plant Tram’ was a participatory project. It included a mobile garden that travelled throughout Helsinki, identifying potential sites to strengthen the network of growing spaces in the city while collecting passengers’ plant donations. The result was an imaginative 100 m long urban garden inspired by the iconic wooden rollercoaster at Helsinki’s Linnanmäki Amusement Park. The project was commissioned by the British Council for World Design Capital Helsinki 2012, designed and produced by Wayward Plants and built in partnership with the local Finnish environmental organisation Dodo.
