This ad for Thinkbox, the marketing body for commercial TV in the UK, aimed to show the power of TV advertising. A couple are walking down a row of kennels in a dogs’ home when they come across a scruffy mongrel. Knowing he doesn’t stand a chance against the cuter dogs, he plays them his very own TV commercial. Once they’ve seen his household credentials, the couple are left in no doubt as to which dog to choose.
