Rick Rubin had been working with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and played one of their tracks to me. He asked me what I thought – I said it was great and that it would be good to do a video where they change every 20 seconds or so and go into different eras, becoming in a sense different bands. Rick said great and three weeks later I found myself shooting the video.
