Calcio Storico

Calcio Storico is one of the world’s most violent sports. Originating in 16th century Florence, teams compete from each quartiere of Florence: Santa Croce (Azzurri – Blues), Santo Spirito (Bianchi – Whites), San Giovanni (Verdi – Greens), and Santa Maria Novella (Rossi – Reds). Two teams of 27 players attempt to score goals, with headbutting, elbowing, punching, and choking all allowed. The singer sewn binding was split four ways across the print run using colours to reflect the four teams.
