Blackout

Set in Manhattan, the spot recreates the festive, friendly and slightly bizarre moments of the 2003 blackout. Following one man's journey as he walks along the darkened streets, New Yorkers interact with strangers they normally would not have the time of day for. People carry candles, direct traffic and give away free melting ice cream, proving that sometimes things just need to switch off for people to switch on. ‘Good things can happen when your phone's off.’
