The Free State of Thuringia is a federal state in the middle of Germany, mostly known for its grilled sausage speciality: the Thüringer Rostbratwurst. To point out that Thuringia has much more to offer than tasty sausages – and is in fact the birthplace of many technological innovations – we used the sausage cliché to tell people “There's more to Thuringia than you might think.”
