Ali in the Jungle
Ali in the Jungle
Friend and fan of The Hours, Damien Hirst created the band’s album artwork and gave Jonas Odell permission to use the imagery as the starting point for his promo, Ali in the Jungle. The promo is in essence a theatrical show of clockwork machines and skull-headed chorus lines. Odell created a perfect balance between old-fashioned stage trickery and contemporary graphic design to change scenes, using the sense of moving sets pushed in and out or emerging from trapdoors as well as pure animation transitions. Odell also incorporated Hirst’s use of skulls, clocks and colour in the band’s artwork, mixing it up with dancers and singers, while pulling it all together in his signature style.
