100,000 Stars

‘100,000 Stars’ is a Google Chrome experiment that uses real data to plot the position of over 100,000 stars near the sun. Users may zoom from our solar system all the way out to the Milky Way galaxy. The site gives access to 87 clickable star systems and provides detailed information, including a 3D model. An automated tour provides a guided overview of the visualisation.
