Portfolio highlight: Juliana Silverio, art director

Juliana Silverio is a freelance art director based in São Paulo. Her time on D&AD Shift São Paulo helped her realise that she wasn't a graphic designer but an art director - someone who, in her own words, "creates brands, visual identities, campaigns, packaging, and labels".

While on the Shift programme, she received three job offers, including one from Tátil Design, one of Brazil's leading advertising agencies. For the first time, she was in a position to choose where she wanted to work, and she chose Humora - a medical cannabis holding company with four brands operating across Brazil and the US - where she joined as art director. Humora Brasil

I worked at Humora for ten months where I served as art director across the full lifecycle of visual identity development - from conception through to creation - spanning campaigns, social media content, labels, and packaging designed to promote the lifestyle and drive sales of medical cannabis products in the Brazilian market.

Surf (student project)

For our D&AD Shift project, my fellow Shifters and I took on a full rebranding of Unilever's Surf soap, targeting audiences in France and the United Kingdom. We delivered a brand manual, new positioning, visual identity, fragrances, packaging, activations and a PR stunt.

Nubloom

I served as art director for Nubloom, a brand within the Humora group. It is an American laboratory specialising in medical cannabis products. The design is meant to convey a feeling of serenity and calm.

Green Root (student project)

Green Root is a campaign that my fellow Shifters and I developed during a two-day AI immersion at ESPM (a college for Marketing and Advertising in Brazil) during the D&AD Shift Programme. We focussed on biosustainable solutions to reduce the presence of microplastics on land.
