About
Marta Zafra is an illustrator and visual researcher. She holds a Fine Arts degree from the University of Granada and a postgraduate qualification in Digital Video from IDEC-UPF. Before moving into illustration, she worked as a prop stylist and art assistant for advertising and film in Barcelona. Since 2006, she has worked internationally, represented by several agencies, across editorial, cultural and commercial projects. Her career has been recognised with awards such as Laus and Junceda, and in 2023 she was named Illustrator of the Year by D&AD. Her work explores drawing as a narrative language and is characterised by detailed rendering, precise linework and refined compositions. She is currently a PhD candidate in Drawing at the University of Granada and is completing a higher vocational course in Printmaking. Portfolio and recent work: www.martazafra.com
