Astrid Seme has been running her eponymous Vienna-based studio for visual communication. With a strong focus on typography, the studio specializes in books and editorial projects, visual identities, exhibition design, and websites. Next to her design practice she has an ongoing research in typography and its vocal dimensions. This hybrid practice has been exhibited internationally in both art and design contexts, including Typojanchi Seoul, Kunsthalle Basel, Mimosa House London, and the Fikra Graphic Design Biennial Sharjah. In 2019 she published ”Baroness Elsa’s em dashes“, an anthology dedicated to a single punctuation mark—the em dash.
