Saving money is tough. Saving money during a global pandemic when there’s nothing to do but scroll social media, while getting served data-driven ads tailored to your interests? That’s even tougher. The Buy Now Blocker is the first targeted ad campaign on social media whose main goal was to get you NOT to buy something. Pereira O'Dell created a data-driven media buy that targeted 100 of the most common purchases on social media and used the same targeting methods as retailers to serve ads. When users clicked, they got a free savings app to help them save up for the things they actually want.
