The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force is an organisation that maintains peace in Japan. To refocus young people’s attention on the Self-Defense Force, we created a mobile training application, Salute Trainer. A salute is a very important action expressing the spirit of the Self-Defense Force. We took accurate measurements from the perfect salute and programmed the results into the Salute Trainer. The app teaches users the salute, then sends those who achieved excellent results a recruitment email, thereby doubling up as a recruitment tool.
