David Guerrero, started his career as an infant extra in the movie “55 days in Peking.” Inspired by this early start he later founded BBDO Guerrero in Manila. The agency recently celebrated its 25th year and was listed in Asia’s top 10 by Campaign Brief Asia’s “The Work.”

David was the first Cannes Jury President from South East Asia and the agency won the country’s first Lions in Film, Cyber, Outdoor, Radio, Press, and Promo. BBDO Guerrero also won the country’s first Grand Prix for Effectiveness at the Asia-Pacific AdFest
He has headed juries at AdFest, Clio, Malaysia’s Kancils, Philippine Kidlat, London International Awards, MADC, Creative Circle, and Tambuli. David was the first creative to be recognized by the nation’s marketing community for “Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Communications.”

In 2012, the agency created the “It’s more fun in the Philippines” tourism campaign that continued for a decade. It won the WARC Asia Strategy Grand Prix as well as two other Grand Prix. (It also led to a book entitled Advertising More Fun in the Philippines by then agency CEO Tony Harris.)

David is passionate about developing new talent and his agency runs a long-established program to train young creatives in the Philippines. At last count there were 14 former employees of the agency running agencies or creative departments in the Philippines and four other global markets.

In 2021 he presented a BBC World Service radio documentary “When the Beatles Didn’t Meet Imelda” and in 2022, he graduated with an MLA from Harvard Extension School. In 2023 he won the National Book Award for “best book in lifestyle, humor, business and sports” with: “The you-have-to-go-through-a-lot-of-cr*p-to-get-to-good-ideas book.”
