Marcelo Nogueira started out as a film editor and began his creative career as an intern at AlmapBBDO, São Paulo, where he worked for five years as a copywriter. After this period, he still had hair on his head and joined the creative team at F/Nazca Saatchi&Saatchi for another six and a half years. In 2010 he returned to AlmapBBDO, where he is now working as an Executive Creative Director and his hair's gone. In twenty years, he has won a number of major national and international awards, including 60 Lions at the Cannes Festival, 5 Gold Clios, 1 Grand Clio, 6 Gold Pencils at The One Show, 19 Pencils at D&AD (1 Yellow) and 6 Effies. He took part in successful campaigns for major brands such as Visa, Mars, HP, Getty Images and Volkswagen, including the Kombi’s Last Wishes. He was present for the Almap’s four years as Agency of the Year at Cannes, which is at least proof of good luck. Nogueira was the 3rd most awarded creative director globally in 2017 according to The Drum's Big Won Report, 2nd most awarded creative director in Cannes Lions two years in a row, in 2016 and 2017, and 9th in Cannes Lions 2015, according to the Cannes Global Creativity Report. He can also put together a Rubik’s cube in under 5 minutes, but, to this day, has still not memorized his seven times table.
