Koushik studied communication design at National Institute of Design, India and Electronic Media Arts at Royal Conservatory, The Netherlands. Artist Vivan Sundaram, with whom he collaborated frequently and his teacher Magnum photographer Antoine d'Agata has a strong influence on his work. Koushik has made several significant documentaries and music videos including Flying in a Blue Dream; a feature length documentary on ‘guitar God’ Joe Satriani, published worldwide by Sony BMG & Epic Records.

Directing and producing TV commercials for over two decades, he shaped iconic Indian campaigns like Imperial Blue Men will be men, Britannia Pure Magic Meditation, IKEA Ghar ajao, SpiceMobile Almunium Subramanium, Coca Cola Sunshine to name a few. Koushik founded KITCHEN.video, a multidisciplinary video lab in 2021, producing narrative and branded content. His debut short ‘Mono No Aware’ was premiered at LA Shorts International Film Festival 2021 and has been exhibited in three Academy Awards Qualifying film festivals till date.
