Environmental Design / Public Space & Community
Medieval and Renaissance Galleries, Victoria & Albert Museum

MUMA has created a new suite of galleries to house the V&A’s Medieval and Renaissance collections. The materials, construction and form of the interventions are distinctly modern and complement the historic building fabric. Innovative, passive environmental control in the context of the historic artefacts and considered use of daylight were key drivers. Thenew informal Daylit Gallery and circulation hub occupy a previously underused light-well, providing equality of access to six levels of the Grade I listed building.
